Mar Azul, the forest that reaches the sea
A town of sandy streets and pines on the Atlantic coast, four blocks from the beach and five kilometers from the dunes of Faro Querandí.
Mar Azul is one of the oldest towns south of Villa Gesell. It was born when the forest was planted over the dunes and the streets were laid out among the pines, with no hurry and no buildings on the coast. Even today people still walk on sand, the sea can be heard at night and there are no traffic lights in sight.
The Casas The Black grounds are at Punta Indio 624, almost at the corner of Calle 34. From there the beach is four blocks away: you walk there, beach chair on your shoulder and no need for the car.
To the north is the town center, with its shops and its pedestrian street. To the south, five kilometers along the beach, the Reserva Natural Municipal Faro Querandí begins: the largest dune field in the province, with wetlands, coastal grasslands and more than a hundred species of plants.

The Querandí lighthouse, at the end of the walk
The lighthouse is 54 meters tall and has 276 steps, and it is guarded by the Navy. It is reached on foot along the beach, and from its base the view runs along the line of dunes as far as the eye can see. It is the classic outing in Mar Azul: set off early, carry water and come back with the afternoon light.
A wide beach, with no buildings behind
The sand is wide and the water comes in gently. Behind there are no towers or concrete beach clubs: only dunes and forest. In the morning the beach is almost empty and near the water the sand becomes firm, ideal for walking a long way. It is the same beach you see from the house, four blocks away.

Summer fairs and markets
When night falls, the streets of the town center fill with stalls: artisans, street food and music. The fairs run mainly in season and are the plan for after the beach, a few blocks from the property.

The dunes that protect the village
The Reserva Natural Municipal Faro Querandí was created in 1996 to protect the dune ecosystem: around five thousand seven hundred hectares of living dunes, interdunal lagoons and grasslands, with more than a hundred species of plants. Entry is from the beach, from Calle 47.

Shore fishing and long sunsets
At sunset the beach is left alone and the light changes all at once. Shore fishing is a custom of the town: rod, silence and the sea ahead.
